Our good friends, the Williamsons, are heading to Texas. I'm devastated & can't believe they would do this to us sad to see them go, but excited for what awaits them as Zack starts a doctoral program at UT. Interestingly enough, stuff about Texas seems to keep popping up since I received the news about their move..... I've been at a light behind someone with a TX tag, I've randomly met a TX native, every magazine lately has had articles about somewhere in TX, and within a week of them deciding to move I received an order to paint a distressed version of the TX flag from someone completely unrelated! I'm taking that as a good omen for them & I'm always ready to plan a trip, so Austin in the fall.... here we come! Adios dear friends!

The barn board
The nursery
Speaking of planes... we're getting on one tomorrow. We've agonized on whether or not to cancel our trip to Colorado due to Trent's broken foot. Yesterday morning we were canceling... by the evening we were packing our bags. This should be interesting!

Fun idea....
I made this for a lovely lady as a gift for her parents. She found something similar on pinterest and enlisted me to execute the idea. The one she found was on a plain ol' board, but of course I have the really cool barn boards :). It's simply clothes pins glued to the board and embellished with paint & buttons. I thought this was a fun alternative to a cork board, magnet board, or wire/twine with clothes pins.

I just realized it's been more than 2 weeks since I've last blogged. I've been doing a whole lot more of thinking about painting than actually doing it. I can't promise that I'm going to be getting better about it anytime soon.
Thanks for checking in though!

He's come along way...
I received these orders in the same week. I'm always appreciative of orders, but my concern about these was the fact that I share a house with the #1 UGA football fan. Showing support for another SEC team (even in the form of a paint & wood) is a cardinal sin around these parts. I was pleasantly surprised with his lack of reaction to these. I was even able to consult with him about the different shades of orange. Seriously, he's come along way.

Trish asked me to put together something for her & Andy's second anniversary that included this poem by ee cummings. This was read at their wedding, so she thought it would be special to incorporate into something that wasn't too girly.
Happy Anni!
