On to the next topic..... I've been walking around in a daze since I found out BOTH of my favorite magazines, Cottage Living and Domino, have folded. Over the years, when I open the mailbox to find either of these, my day was complete. I couldn't be any happier if someone handed me the keys to a brand new Subaru Outback (translation: a BMW for most of you). Anyhow, this a.m. I was surprised to find myself having the same reaction to a Uline catalog.
I found this company when searching for sturdy mailers to ship my orders in. I am enamored with kraft paper, so I wanted the mailers to be some sort of brown recycled paper. I don't really know what to make of my odd excitement toward Uline & obsession with kraft, but I can trace similar feelings a long way back:
- the art cart & snack cart in elementary school always fascinated me
- any sort of packaging, it sets the tone for the contents
- my first job was bagging groceries at kroger.... perhaps the paper bags influenced me
- office supplies thrill me.... I love organization
- I briefly worked in a printing company warehouse & all the industrial organization pieces really struck my fancy
Uline really embraces all of these little oddities. I am particularly taken with are the wide variety of tags, large fiber drums, wire cargos, and rolling ladders. Maybe I'll have a warehouse one day, but for now I'll just enjoy kraft paper:
