The Tree of Life

I've always had a thing for trees.  I love seeing how they change throughout the seasons, their framework, the life they hold, et cetera.  A few months ago my friend, Beth, wanted me to paint something to go with her best friend's favorite scripture.  She wanted something with a sunset.  This is what I came up with:

A few weeks ago I had another tree request.  She wanted it to express parts of her favorite scripture from Ephesians... 'breadth', 'height', 'depth', 'rooted'; putting emphasis on deep roots giving way to life.  This was from a friend that I've only met in person once, Christie, but have gotten to know, via email, over the past couple of years.  She is part of Campus Crusade in Alabama.

Last week Lindsay (you know who she is) requested 2 trees painted on barn board.  She was very specific... trees black w/ lots of branches and a little lime green vine on the side.  One of her elementary kids could have done this, but here is one of them:

She has a really cool room that she uses for her morning devotional and she plans on putting her prayer requests on each branch.  I think that's an excellent idea.

There's just something about a tree.  (I have no idea why you can't click on these pictures to enlarge, so if you know what I can do differently please let me know!)
