Three years down, a lifetime to go...

Three years of marriage... it seems like the wedding was a lifetime ago, but I remember every detail like it was yesterday.  The green hydrangea & hypericum berry bouquets, the e.e. cummings poetry, the heartfelt homily, the one tissue shared by the emotional bride & groom until it fell apart, the low country boil, the delicious key lime cake with cream cheese icing & the Sydney Lanier poem written on it, the groovin' music courtesy of The Reflections, the fun time spent with our loved ones, and the timely May shower that ended the evening.  My mother-in-law once told me that a wedding is a success if the bride had a good time.  I had a great time & loved, loved, loved our wedding.

There are now chips on the dishes, a missing towel or two, and all appliances have been used at least a few times.  We've faced a some trials that neither of us ever saw coming.  I've learned that life isn't as easy to plan as a wedding.  And it turns out that there is a lot more to marriage than a wedding.  Go figure.  All of that said, I have been blessed beyond words to have a husband like Trent.  We've hit a nice stride & seem more like honeymooners now than we did three years ago.   I love our life as much as I loved our wedding.  The sign on our "reception shack" sums it up best.... "Never a Dull Moment".
