I feel pretty fortunate to have an Ikea in Atlanta.... I dreamt about it for years. Dreams do come true. Since the place is so big, I think it's important to have a game plan... know what you're going in for. You must also have a discerning eye... there are a lot of things that are of questionable quality. BUT, you can get some very affordable good looking pieces. Here are the things that I've gotten over the years & have never regretted buying:
3 of these. They look like they were built just for the wall we have them on. They are certainly not made of a fine quality wood (or real wood at all, for that matter) by a skilled carpenter, but they have held up well.
This spice rack. I have it hung by the cooktop with little glass jars holding the spices. I just love it.... keeps the counter clear & everything I need at my finger tips.
Office organization.... you absolutely cannot beat Ikea for that. As a matter of fact, I need more magazine holders (navy blue things above) and looked for them at an office store in town today. The selection was pitiful and the prices outrageous. I'll be holding off on those.
Now this thing.... I've had 3 for at least a year now & haven't done anything with them. They are displayed as utensil holders in Ikea, but I feel like I'll use them to hold paint brushes one day when I have my dream studio. Dreams do come true.
