During the application process you have to give your work a category. I had a hard time with that because I don't think of my work as craft, but it's certainly not fine art. A fellow artist informed me that my work is "fine craft". I now embrace the term.... especially when I'm painting on barn boards. And it is officially barn board season. Next to nursery art, I paint more barn boards than anything else. Nothing like a rainy morning to stay in & paint!

Gettin' crafty
The festival circuit is often referred to as "craft shows". That name makes me shudder.... I think of handmade potato bins, creepy dolls, sand art, etc. I made a point of correcting people on a regular basis when I was doing the shows.
