The Vaca Wrap Up

When planning our trip we decided to leave Wednesday night open as a "wild card".  I'm a stickler where schedules are concerned, but I like a little wiggle room when traveling.  I wasn't ready to leave Key West, so it won the wild card.

We combed the area for an affordable guest houses & decided on Old Town Manor.  The room was charming and opened up to a gracious porch.

The grounds were really beautiful.  An old brick path led to the
back of the house where breakfast was served.

By the way, did I mention there was some sort of BIKE WEEK going on?!?!  I didn't realized how strong of a dislike for noise pollution I have until then.  Thankfully, I've learned from Hope (sis-in-law) to travel with wax earplugs.  Our wonderful balcony room had a front row seat of the spectacle, surround sound included.
The Key West Cemetery was really interesting.  This little island
is busting at the seams with history.
The rest of the day consisted of more strolling, a lot of porch time,
and vacation-style eating (read excessive eating).  We hit the hay at a decent hour anticipating an early Thursday morning departure.

Last Day
Also when planning the trip (and seeing the average temps in march hover around 80 degrees), we decided it would be awesome to spend our last vacation day laying by a nice pool.  Trent handpicked a great place near the airport that would be covered by his hotel points.  It was perfect.... a big infinity pool over-looking the Intracoastal Waterway.  We were going to lounge under an
umbrella all day and watch the yachts cruise by.
Well, come to find out, the same activities don't apply when it's 60 degrees with gale force winds.  Hollywood, FL leaves a lot to be desired, but we checked it out anyway...
Then we decided to just pretend we were at home instead...
It was actually really cool at night.
I attempted to capture the pizza man through the peep hole.
That didn't work out, so Trent did a reenactment for me.

I hope that you get to experience everything in person some day.
What a great trip!
