Mot treated me to a wonderful weekend in the Great Smoky Mountains.
It was an excellent escape from the heat & reality.
She discovered the very quaint Hemlock Inn on the outskirts of Bryson City.  I must disclose (incase you might visit one day) that the included breakfast & dinner were served family style.  A bell would be rung, you'd make your way to the table, stand behind your chair until the prayer was said, and then sit to eat with strangers.  It was odd, but kinda fun.  We had a colorful gentleman, Butch, sitting at our table that allowed for no silent moments.  His wife's name was Pauler (Paula) and he had a yeller (yellow) lab.    We also had a few hikers from Russia (one barefooted), a business man from Denmark, and a wild family from Florida.

It rained a good bit, but we enjoyed exploring the park by car until it let up.
The hikes were divine.....
On the way home we decided to swing in to Highland, NC for more eating and a
tad bit of shopping at my most favorite store in the world, Dutchmans.
(the pictures I snuck on my phone (nor the website) do it justice)
It was an unforgettable weekend... thanks mot!!!
