May be hard to believe, but I actually have been drawing & painting this week. I'll reveal some of the work at a later date, but in the meantime I'll fill you in on my week pictorially.
This is me & my brother with our great aunt. She is very ill, but managed to travel down from Indiana just to visit. We had a great time! Thanks for coming AJ!

I watched my nephew for a few hours yesterday. I just love this kid.

I'm a morning person. I feel most alive & connected with nature in the a.m. Today Trent got up early also (rare occasion) and that just made the morning all the better. He hung out with the boys (Vince (dog) and Oliver (cat)) and did some watering. Speaking of watering, Oliver is on top of my beloved rain barrel that Trent so brilliantly installed (thanks T!).

I grew up on a farm and apparently all the years of indentured servitude taught me to love gardening (I'm really joking about the servant thing... I led a charmed childhood). With the blessing of all the rain this spring things are really starting to shape up around here. Our tomatoes are showing the signs of the good things to come....
Our herbs are growing gang busters, the mint a little too prolific. Which led me to a project....

Mint infused simple syrup....mmmm. It was really easy, but I'm kinda proud of myself. This can be used in many summer cocktails, but I made it specifically for mojitos. I know those are so yesterday, but I think it's a classic.
